Recently I sat down with a friend and we had a in depth discussion about his business, my business and the economic climate in general. Before I get into the details and why I’m writing about it though, I want to let everyone know how I feel about the economy right now. Just so everyone knows:
I believe that there are more ways now to create wealth than have ever existed in the past. I am excited about the future and what it holds for everyone.
Call me crazy if you’d like, but with everything I’ve read and studied over the past few years, now is the time that when companies will be founded that will become the giants of industry in 20 or 30 years (maybe sooner).
But because we are so programmed to work 9-5, Monday through Friday, the discussion with a friend ended up at the question: “How much is Monday worth to you?” The question really struck me and maybe it will strike you.
Seriously, how much do you make on Monday…$200, $500, $5,000?
Then my follow up question was simply, is there a way that you could make that amount of money sometime Tuesday through Friday? Think about it – if you became more effective Tuesday through Friday, you could have a 3 day weekend for the rest of your life.
What would you do with your 3 day weekend, every week? Throughout your life, what do you think you could get done with an extra day to yourself and your family every week.
So here’s my challenge to you, just like I challenged my friend. How much is Monday worth to you, your spouse, your employees? Is there a way to make yourself or them more efficient the other days of the week and still make the same amount of money?
I’d love to hear what your thoughts are and because every post is better with a photograph, enjoy one we recently took on our point and shoot of our nephews.
