George and Susan were a great referral! How we met them was actually through my brother (Patrick, aka Felix at the Green Well). George and Susan are regulars at the Green Well and were talking to my brother how they were getting married, had met with a wedding photographer in town, but weren’t impressed. My brother (the good guy he is) told them to check out my website, wrote it down for them and a couple of days later contacted me.
We met over coffee at Biggby in Cascade and hit it off right away. They told us how they planned a casual strolling dinner, small intimate ceremony at the ICCF and then wanted to dance the night away to the music of the Lazy Blue Tunas. They wanted an outdoor ceremony in early May at the ICCF, which got us very excited. As the day arrived though, they were not expecting 50 degree temperatures along with 20+ mph winds. Needless to say, the ceremony was moved inside.
There was no need to worry though because Susan’s niece, Michelle, was taking care of their big day. Michelle is a wedding planner at Frederik Meijer Gardens and we have known each other for over a year. I knew with her in charge, everything would work out wonderfully! She coordinated the food from Cherry Street Deli, the cake from MiraBella Confections and all the other details that go along with a wedding day.
Since my wife couldn’t make the wedding, I had Lauren from Pegasus Photography come up from Kalamazoo and second shoot with me.
