Costa Rica Adventure | Items Checked Off The Bucket List
Taking 10 days away from the office was exactly what we needed. We were blessed to be able to put together what really turned out to be three separate trips to all into one. First we were able to head to the La Fortuna & Arenal area of Costa Rica through an incentive trip we earned. We knew it would be a great trip, but as you will see below, everything from the hotel, to activities blew us away! Everything was first class and we had more fun on the trip than we ever imagined possible!
We made our journey in a trusty 2-door, 5-speed manual Suzuki Jimny. After a 3 hour trek through the mountains that took us only 100 kilometers, we arrived at our hotel, the Arenal Springs Resort & Spa. They are a 4 Star resort and it showed. From great food, amazing facilities, natural hot springs on the property & a world class spa, anything we needed at the resort was taken care of! Even the view was amazing!
During our time in Arenal, we hiked through Arenal Volcano National Park on aged lava flows (one item to check off our bucket list), hiked to a secluded waterfall to go swimming, zip lined through the rain forest canopy and went canyoneering (waterfall rappelling). We were able to visit a wildlife rescue center, Proyecto Asis, one of the few in the entire country. In addition we explored Lake Arenal, a 33 mile long reservoir that was created after a hydroelectric dam was built in the area.
Below we have put together a compelation video of our time in Costa Rica and below the video, you will see some of our favorite photos from the trip!
