Ross + Lisa | Little Point Sable Church Wedding on Lake Michigan
A wedding day at your parents home on Lake Michigan with 31 guests, including the bride and groom. What could be better for a late October wedding?
We met Ross and Lisa last year when we photographed the Kremers family at their cottage near Shelby. The family came together from across the country for Thanksgiving, but Ross and Lisa traveled the furthest from California. At the time they were not engaged, but Lisa was included with the family photos, so I thought it would only be a matter of time until Ross asked Lisa to be his wife. Little did I know their engagement would mean a small, family focused wedding back in Michigan in October.
Getting ready began at two cottages on the shores of Lake Michigan. Ross and his father, along with friends helping setup for dinner later in the day. Lisa, her mom and other family members at a separate cottage making sure Lisa looked stunning for the day.
Getting to know the Kremers family, I knew the family is very close. So close that Ross' father was his best man and Lisa's brother stood up for her during the wedding. The ceremony was held at The Little Point Sable Church in Shelby, which is part of the lakefront association the family belongs. Both sets of parents walked Lisa and Ross down the aisle as they said vows to one another and became husband and wife.
With family being so important, we made time for portraits following the ceremony and then sent everyone back to the Kremers' home so Ross and Lisa could have some time together for photos. The fall colors were spectacular and these two are a joy to be with. They are encouraging and thankful for all they've been blessed with.
Below, I included one of my favorite sequences of images below where you'll see Lisa laughing at something Ross said to her. These two get along so well, it was a blessing to be a part of their wedding day.
Then it was back to the family cottage where dinner was served by Ryke's catering in Muskegon, who served a fantastic meal. Toasts were given by both fathers and were extremely moving. Then it was cake cutting and a first dance for Ross and Lisa before everyone was able to enjoy family time at the cottage.
