Kent + April | Washington DC Engagement Portraits
Anyone else find Washington DC as charming as we do? After our time with Kent and April for their engagement session, we’ve found even more that we love.
Kent and April flew us to DC and we planned their engagement session in 2 parts. First would be a tour of the monuments (Lincoln Memorial, Tidal Basin, Jefferson Memorial, US Capitol). The second would be a walk through of old town Alexandria, VA with the latest addition to their family, Nala.
To help these two look their best with the Washington DC monuments, we wanted to make sure they were not sharing the steps of the memorials with 7200 school kids.
So what did we do?
We planned a sunrise session for all the monuments (which meant an early wake up call for everyone involved).
But as you’ll see, it was worth the early alarm as we discovered the monuments almost empty, a rare feat in the world of Washington.
After a quick stop to the spot where these two had their first date (the Boxcar Tavern), we headed back to their condo for a break.
After a nap and some lunch, we made our way to old town Alexandria, one of the oldest cities in America. The charm is something we hadn’t experience before and the dog, Nala, loved it.
We stayed until sunset to capture some of the Potomac River’s grandeur.
