Local First Fork Fest 2015 | Grand Rapids Event Photography
Romence Gardens & Greenhouses was packed to the brim for Local First's 5th Annual Fork Fest. The food event had over 700 attendees, with over forty local vendors providing a variety of delicious cuisine and well crafted beverages from cider to cocktails. Fork Fest is a fall harvest celebration for the West Michigan food system. Not only do attendees get an all you can eat ticket for the evening (that alone is worth the price of admission), but attendees are also able to meet restaurant owners, local business owners and other people who are energized by the local food system. Local First continues is efforts to build a resilient West Michigan food system based on strong local relationships.
With over 40 local food vendors, I personally was able to meet three restaurant owners who I had never heard of before (The Black Heron, The Sovengard & The Grilling Company). This was on top of the folks I've been able to meet over the past several years.
If you've ever wanted to meet the people responsible for food in West Michigan, this is the event to attend.
