Eric + Andrea | Cascade Hills Country Club Wedding
Eric and Andrea have been wonderful to work with. They were referred to us by a mutual friend and we had a great time getting to know one another. Their Cascade Hills Country Club wedding marks the "end of summer" as it was our first post-Labor day wedding. You may or may not recall their engagement photos in downtown Grand Rapids (which may have included a few rooftop photos...).
As their wedding day drew near, the schedule was finalized, locations for photos were chosen and off we were to meet Andrea and her wedding party at Heidi Christines Salon in Ada. The staff at Heidi Christines always does an amazing job and with Andrea, it was no different. Andrea is already beautiful, but hair and makeup transformed her into a beauty that would stun her soon to be husband Eric.
The wedding ceremony was held at St. Robert's Catholic Church in Ada. Both the guys and girls prepared at the church and took just a few photos before the ceremony. Andrea decided to be somewhat non-traditional when it came to her wedding party. She had her younger twin brothers stand up for her along with five of the most important ladies in her life. In addition, Eric had his groomsmen and 4 additional ushers, so guiding and directing the large wedding party was fun throughout the day.
Andrea's father and mother walked her down the aisle and Eric's first look at his beautiful bride is included below. To say he was emotional is an understatement. Father Len at St. Robert's has always had a wonderful touch with wedding ceremonies and Eric and Andrea's was no different. His church is beautiful and he is a wonderful officiant.

Following the ceremony we made sure to capture formal family portraits so parents could head to the reception to meet and greet guests. Following the final group photo, Eric's surprise "pre-wedding" gift arrived at the church - Peyton the puppy. We snapped a few photos of Eric and Andrea with their newest addition, Peyton and then headed off on the trolley to downtown Grand Rapids.
With rain in the forecast, we chose the old Civic Auditorium entrance of DeVos Place as the mainstay of our time downtown. If rain did come, the wedding party would have shelter and if it was nice, we could venture to the river walk. Thankfully the rain came earlier in the day and the downtown locations were dramatic backdrops for Eric and Andrea's wedding photos!
The wedding party made their way to Cascade Hills Country Club for the reception, but not without a quick stop out onto the golf course with the bride and groom. We knew ahead of time a location for a group portrait and a few portraits for just Eric and Andrea. You will love the images below and see why Cascade Hills is one of west Michigan's premier wedding venues.
The details were taken care of, dinner was served, cake was cut and Oregon Dream Child began playing their first set. Guests at the wedding were treated like royalty, just as Eric and Andrea discussed during our first meeting last year.
If you like the photos, be sure to comment as Eric and Andrea would love to hear about your favorites photos!
