Matt + Lauren | Stonewater Country Club Wedding
Matt and Lauren's wedding day was one for the ages. In fact that's the theme that these two worked into their wedding day. It was the wedding for the ages, followed by the reception for the ages, followed by the honeymoon for the ages. Check out the fantastic gift Lauren gave Matt on their wedding day below, it even includes an inscription with it. Their wedding ceremony was held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on the southeast side of Grand Rapids. The setting was wonderful for all the getting ready images, a touching moment for Lauren and her father (check out the amazing black and white image Rebecca took below) and a fantastic ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Even the May weather was on their side!
The wedding details that these two put together were fantastic as well. Lauren's bouquet was not a traditional bouquet, but a bouquet of pins that had come from her matron of honor's wedding. Not only was it "something borrowed", but it was also new as she added her own pins to the original.
Following the ceremony we planned on enough time for a trip to downtown Grand Rapids where these two love going to HopCat. The wedding party, along with Matt and Lauren took over the cobblestone streets of Ionia and the area near the Van Andel Arena for photos. It was great to be assisted by not only my wife, but also our great associate photographer Theresa, who had a ton of fun with the wedding party around downtown Grand Rapids.
Following a beer and some crack fries at HopCat, the wedding party headed over to Stonewater Country Club where their guests were waiting for their arrival. Dinner and dancing followed and the drinks flowed from the Stonewater bar. Their 'cutting the cake' moment was quickly followed up with a smashing of cake all over Matt's face! The only comment I heard all night long from guests was "Your wedding has definitely lived up to the name, the wedding for the ages!"
Many thanks to Matt and Lauren for allowing us to capture the beginning of their marriage and be a part of their story. It is truly an honor and a privilege.
In addition, be sure to leave a comment below and let them know what you loved best about the wedding for the ages!
