Mercy Health Tour de Rapids | Grand Rapids Event Photography
If you've been following our work for any amount of time, you will know that Mercy Health Saint Mary's and the Saint Mary's Foundation are two of our larger business clients. Every year we photograph the signiture events that the Saint Mary's Foundation hosts around West Michigan. That includes their annual GA*LA, Up on the Roof Event (coming up later this week, click here if you're interested in learning more), Shoppe Soiree, along with other events that raise and keep money right here in the West Michigan community. This year saw the creation of a brand new event, the Tour de Rapids by Mercy Health. It was a cycling event that included several different distance rides, lunch, fellowship and a ton of fun. The event was organized to raise awareness and money for the ALS Program at Mercy Health. Part of the fun during the after party was the Ice Bucket Challenge 2.0 where both young and old, along with the Grand Rapids Police Department took the challenge.
The longest ride of the day began at the Virtue Cider facilities in Fennville, Michigan. Participants started off early in the morning and began a 62 mile ride back to downtown Grand Rapids. Other ride options included 10, 20 and 40 mile rides that began and ended at the Mercy Health Saint Mary's campus in downtown. During the after party, guests were blessed to hear from both doctors running the ALS program and also families who are a part of the ALS program currently.
This years event had over 200 participants and sponsors from all over West Michigan. If you'd like more information on how to get involved with next years Tour de Rapids or how to support the ALS program at Mercy Health, be sure to check out the website by clicking here.
