Wedding at Noto’s in Grand Rapids | Mark + Melissa
Throughout Mark and Melissa's wedding day the following items were in use: Kilts, Skype via iPhone, Champagne Glasses, the Saint Andrew's Cross and Bagpipes. Mark and Melissa's wedding day was a celebration both in Grand Rapids and across the Atlantic in Mark's hometown in Scotland. The two, who met online, were married at an intimate ceremony in Noto's Bella Torre surrounded by 25 or so of their close friends and family. Several people in Scotland joined the ceremony via Skype on a family member's iPhone.
Six of the men, including Mark, wore traditional Scottish kilts. Each of the kilts were had varied tartans, which display traditional family colors and designs. One quote from early in the day included "don't get down too low for photos today..."
Melissa looked stunning against the beautiful backdrop of Bella Torre and the Wine Cellar. Following the ceremony and family portraits, a 3 course dinner for 25 guests was served by Noto's staff, which was prepared right in the wine cellar. In one image below you will find two chefs preparing traditional Italian risotto.
Additional guests arrived following the leisurely dinner where Rick Reuther's Music Host Productions provided entertainment throughout the evening and Noto's created a beautiful dessert bar which included a chocolate fondue fountain for the additional guests.
One of my favorite moments from their wedding day was the moment Mark began watching Melissa walk down the aisle. With tears in his eyes, his breath quickened and I'm sure his palms began to sweat as the woman of his dreams excitedly walked towards him. I have included the sequence of 4 images captured of that moment - stunning and powerful come to mind as I look at the images after their wedding day.
